Trip to the Zoo

Life around the C house is pretty eventful. There always seems to be extra kids, drama, or just plain craziness. I often call it my home Zoo! Well I actually got to visit a "real" zoo and I felt right at home.

Have you ever seen such scary eyes? This was some type of vulture... creepy

 








if I could, I would have stayed and watched this cute little fellow all day.  And if you are wondering I did not have my kiddos.   I was with my sweet preschool class :)

Beds of Spring Clovers

A busy week at the C home.  Lots of appointments, soccer games, injuries & sickness that crammed our week.  We made sure to grab any locket of time to stop and take a break from the craziness of our schedules.

I savor little moments like this when we can stop and stretch out our bare feet in a bed of spring clover.  Taking in the moment to enjoy a little breathe in the midst of our appointment filled days ...

Next Chapter...

I am ready to start the next chapter of this wonderful life (not perfect, just wonderful) God has blessed me with.

I spent the winter doing some soul searching and asking God what is next for me???  I know most photographers go through it but I was just uneasy about it... Yes, the dreaded FUNK!!!  I lost my desire to create and capture things that first took me down this path.  When I was a home I had this love/hate relationship with my beloved camera.  I could not get "that feeling" back in my being.  Well it was during the cold and barren winter that I found the answers to what I was searching for.   It was all about going where I started.  Why I loved picking up my camera, those moments I loved to capture, the things that were close to my heart... my family.

It is who I am....  a mother who wants to remember every laugh, tear, trips to the park, birthdays, graduations, proms and everything in between.   Big moments to the everyday moments that sometimes get over looked.   "There" is where I veered away from and "there" where I am heading back.   Just a mom with a camera.




So it is with an excited heart that I am taking sometime out from Allyson Causey Photography to be a Mom, the family historian, to document my beautiful family!!!!!





and I have found my way back to where my heart & camera are as one...  "there" has turned to my "here"

Best Friends, a personal project

After a few days of wet slushy snow, we woke to sunshine and warmer weather! It just so happen we had M down for a play date which sparked the urge to take advantage of this beautiful sunshine. One of the things I love most of my downtime in the winter is I use this time to work on some personal projects that stretch my creativity. I had a vision and 2 beautiful participants and it all came together.

First Snow of Winter!

We finally got our first snow.  It may not have been much for those out mid-west but to us "southerners" it was just enough to call school.  The kiddos sat eagerly checking their fb waiting for the post.  I found a lot of humor in how they communicate and how it has changed since we were young.  We always had to sit in front of the TV and wait for our spot in the alphabetic school  order to come back around to see if it was indeed closed.  Now in this tech savvy time just a click of a button and you know.  

The princess could not wait to get out in the snow!  So big brother volunteered to brave the cold but mushy snow and savor the moment before it all melted away.
